System Overview Chart Information
The System Overview Chart (SOC) is a star system map that provides information about the system, including:
-System layout
-Distances between planets and jumpoints
-Average travel times between locations
-Major spaceports
-Space stations and services
-Medical services
-Cargo Center locations
-Refinery locations
-Law enforcement jurisdictions
-Atmosphere and climates
-Detailed views of planets and their moons
Page Layout
At the top of the page is the map view, which will show the selected map.
Planetary Systems
Below that is the Planetary System row. Clicking on one of the buttons will take you to a map showing the planet and its moons.
Distances
Next is the Distances. Each selection shows the distances and average travel times between locations on the map. Note that your actual travel time will likely be faster or slower depending on your quantum drive model, but this should give a general idea of travel times.
Services
Below that is Services. Selecting Major Spaceports or Station Services will show services available at those locations. Consult the Legend on the map for an explanation of the symbols. The remaining buttons show the locations of medical services, cargo centers, or refineries throughout the system.
System Information
The System Information row shows the locations of planets with breathable atmospheres, as well as law enforcement jurisdictions. Please note that some moons may be breathable that shouldn’t be or vice versa, work on this is still ongoing.
Electronic Flight Bags
The final section links to the Electronic Flight Bags for each available system.
Planetary System Maps
The Planetary System maps show a detailed view of a planet and its surrounding moons, as well as any orbiting stations.
Unlike the SOC map, the planetary system map includes everything on one page. It shows the planet, its main landing zone, LEO station, and positions of orbital markers (OMs). For the station and main landing zone, available services are shown as they are on the main SOC page.
Moons and their distances from the planet are shown. Average travel times are omitted since even the slowest drive will cover the distance in a few seconds.
General information on the planet and moons is shown on the left side of the map.
Below the map are buttons with links to an Electronic Flight Bag tailored for each planetary system, the main SOC page, and the system’s full EFB.
