WORK IN PROGRESS
Nyx-System Overview Chart (SOC), General Structures chart for QV breaker stations.
Instrument Approach Procedures (IAP)-it was pointed out to me that the ship altimeter is working differently(?) now. What’s happening is both the altitude tape and the one labeled “radar altimeter” (in the lower right corner of the advanced HUD) are showing AGL altitudes below about 250m AGL, and MSL altitudes above that. This seems to be consistent everywhere. I’m evaluating how I can use that to make the IAPs usable again. Obstacle and terrain heights unfortunately will still not be usable, since when altitude is measured in AGL the heights of any terrain or obstacles will of course be zero.
UGF Charts (bunkers)-I will most likely be discontinuing these charts, for the following reasons:
1) There’s too many of them, and too many new ones have been added. Hard to keep up with these kinds of locations.
2) These locations tend to change frequently.
3) Apart from the stuff around the bunker itself, they’re basically all the same.
4) You frequently need to have missions to the bunker, otherwise you get a trespass warning/crimestat and the turrets fire on you, making mapping basically impossible.
5) Many are criminal locations and are always hostile.
What I’m planning at this point is to make a generic chart for bunkers that would fall under the “general structures” category, like the comm arrays and such. Places that may be found around the system but are all more or less the same.
